How to Properly Install Window Film

Step 1: Clean the Glass

Dirt, dust, and grease affect how well the film sticks. Use a glass cleaner or a mix of water and vinegar. Wipe with a lint-free cloth. Pay attention to the edges since buildup often collects there.

Step 2: Measure the Window

Measure the height and width of your window. Add an extra inch to both sides when cutting the film. This gives you room for adjustments during application.

Step 3: Cut the Film

Place the film on a flat surface. Cut it using the measurements you took. Keep the edges straight to make installation easier.

Step 4: Wet the Glass

Use a squeegee or a plastic card wrapped in a cloth. Push water and air bubbles from the center to the edges. Reapply water on top of the film to prevent scratches.

Step 8: Trim the Edges

Use a sharp utility knife to cut away excess film along the edges. Keep the blade steady for clean lines.

Step 9: Final Check

Inspect the glass for bubbles or lifted edges. Smooth them out while the film is still damp. Once satisfied, let the film dry. Drying usually takes 24 to 48 hours.
